Global Shaper - NYC Manhattan Hub as part of the World Economic Forum Global Shapers Community

The Global Shapers Initiative is a program started by the World Economic Forum to involve young people to address regional and global challenges. I am a member of the Global Shapers Community as part of the New York City Manhattan Hub. As part of this inspiring community, I have been collaborating directly with local leaders on discourse regarding the Battery Park City Resilience Projects, an active coastal protection project to protect southern Manhattan from the threat of storm surges and rising sea levels.

Presenter at inaugural Global Shapers Community Caribbean Retreat

I attended and presented at the inaugural Global Shapers Community Caribbean Retreat, organized by the Global Shapers Port of Spain Hub in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago in September 2023. The conference was centered around the increased environmental impact in the Caribbean and its associated challenges, caused by unprecedented climate change. I was honored to present on the benefits and advantages of utilizing indigenous construction and building practices, human-centered design and biomimicry, particularly when addressing areas where large-scale flooding is a frequent occurrence.
